Pet Emergency Center for Dogs of Missoula

We understand that your dog is not just a pet, they are part of the family. We also understand that while a dog may be a man’s best friend, in times of need a pet emergency center can be the dog owner’s best friend. In those times, you and your dog deserve that the best care is delivered by those with the experience, equipment, and ability to handle tough times.

At Sentinel Pet Emergency Center in Missoula, we combine symptomatic care, high-quality diagnostics, and consistent monitoring to help alleviate your pup’s discomfort while we work with you to determine the best course of action for you and your dog. Throughout this process, we will perform a physical exam and then offer some combination of treatments, monitoring for changes, and possibilities for future diagnostics or treatment. We know that these decisions are stressful, and we are here to provide you with cost-conscious and reliable care.

Emergency Care for Cats of Missoula

We understand that when your feline friend has a medical issue that restricts their independence, it impacts their and your ability to enjoy life. We understand that it’s difficult, but at that point, it’s important to seek assistance from a pet emergency center right away.

Cats are often able to hide much discomfort until their condition becomes critical. It’s in their instincts to hide pain and suffering in order to maintain their place in the pack. A small bite wound may reveal extensive damage under the skin. Painful limbs could indicate arthritis, soft tissue strains, sprains, infections, or fractures. A small urinary tract infection can quickly become life-threatening. Vomiting, diarrhea, or not eating/ drinking may be indicative of something much more sinister.

Given how serious these issues can become if not addressed, we will assess your cat through a careful physical exam and x-rays or another testing as necessary to diagnose the problem. Depending on what we find and what you decide, we may provide your cat with treatment, monitoring, or surgery. We will do all of this while ensuring your pet is in as little pain as possible.

Euthanasia

Euthanasia is never an easy decision to make and it can be hard to know whether it’s the right time to let go of your beloved pet. With some, the timing is clear when an injury or illness robs your pet of the quality of life they deserve. Other times, a slow decline makes it difficult to know whether euthanasia is the right call. Regardless of your situation, we are available to help guide and support you through this difficult time.

If euthanasia is required, our caring medical team will counsel you through the process. Your pet will be provided with pain medication and you may be with your pet in their final moments if you so choose. You will have the option to take your pet home for burial or to leave them with us for cremation. You may choose to receive the ashes and a paw print in memory of your beloved friend.

Learning Center

Our online learning center is a free resource for information on common pet ailments you may see throughout your dog or cat’s lifetime. We cover everything from lethargy to fractures to give you a better idea of what may be going on based on their symptoms. Of course, this resource is not meant to replace qualified medical care at any time, but rather to help guide you as to when it’s time to make a call.

Some of the issues we discuss in this resource are relatively easy to diagnose or treat, others are more complex and require involved workups. Regardless, we will help you make good decisions about your pet’s health based on their needs and your priorities. We can provide options for financing and cost estimates to minimize your stress. We want you and your pet to be comfortable and relaxed throughout the diagnosis and treatment process. Feel free to access the online resource at the link above. Please feel free to call if you have any questions or concerns.
